Pilot 10MWp Floating Solar Power Plant — Isimba Reservoir

UEGCL, with support from Swedfund, obtained a grant and conducted a feasibility study for a 10MWp floating solar plant on Isimba reservoir.

Design specifications: - DC: 10MW / AC: 9.23MWac - Number of PV modules: 14,208 units - Number of Inverters: 25 units - Area covered by modules: 39,716 m2 - Annual energy production: 17,050 MWh/year - Performance Ratio: 81.93%

Solar panels mounted on floaters and anchored on river bed using mooring lines and dead weights. Power evacuated via 33kV underground cable to Isimba switchyard.
